The contractor is the most important thing. Unfortunately 50 - 75% of the alleged techs out there are Under Trained and Over Worked or both!

Any time the gas pressure is "Adjusted" or changed a new combustion analyses need to be performed. There adjusting and doing nothing but guessing.

Depending on what it monitoring, combustion air, exhaust air I don't know what they bypassed but personally I would shut it down and get it fixed!

Its his call. I cant think of any job that came close to what the customer expected, I just give them the option and benefits. They choose what to do.

Install the Gas as the back up. IF gas prices go up that much then change the balance point or just disable it. Electric and fossil fuel go hand in hand. 1 goes up so does the other.

As far as I know its all in the IOM. There's no secret area. Specifically what codes are you looking for and why?

How leaky is the house?
How accurate are the test instruments ?
What controls the humidifier your t-stat or a separate control?
A blower door test will show how many air changes an hour and where...

Duct blaster test to find issues with the ducts.
