Not all but many mfrs sell it as an assembly.

In situations like that I always recommend buying the suction line/cap tube assembly from the mfr. Sized correctly and pre-soldered.

I'll bet it's the water level sensor. It's inexpensive enough. They could look good and still have a small amount of resistance between probes. It's a fairly common problem with those units.

For whatever reason your start circuit is not dropping out immediately after starting. Either miswired or bad relay.

Possibly contaminated oil in system. Maybe needs an oil change or new compressor. I would also blow out the lines on the condensing unit to flush out gunk.

Did the motor sucking air in have power. If it did the motor is bad. If it does'nt have power check your controls. It may be wired for a 2nd fan to come on with pressure or ambient temp controls.
