Ah ok I got it. So the smaller ones use an orifice rather than an injector assembly like three 2000.
I’ve worked on hundreds of these things (except for a 2000 apparently) but I’m having some...

I’ve worked on hundreds of these things (except for a 2000 apparently) but I’m having some...
Does a PHW2000 have a gas orifice in it?
Check your ground. I had the same exact problem with a KN boiler. Was a new install. Having intermittent pilot ignition failures. Sometimes it would spark, sometimes it wouldn’t. Found out that the...
I always used mine in auto. Has worked very well.
Anyone use one? A co-worker has one and I've been wanting one for awhile.
Will mostly be checking chiller barrel pressure drops with it.
What pressure range would you suggest?
...
Can’t wait until MQ supports multi-circuit and chillers.
My first set of wireless gauges was Appion and I was never happy with the app.
@chillrdude
What do I need to do to set up a class and pay you to dump your knowledge? 😆😆😆
I would like one!
Digging the Mr Shims deal for the dials kit with the green laser kit. Will probably end up going with that one. Thank you!!
Going to pick up that book as well.
Heatingman, I’m going to check out that Mr Shims Kit. I saw the Fixturelaser kit, which was rebranded by some other brands, but it went discontinued. Great find, thanks for the share. Definitely...
Any suggestions on dial kits?
I missed that. It would still work for a lot of what I do. But you’re right that’s not great. Damn.
I really want to try this out, but there seem to be no reviews of it. It fits the budget and looks like a good product for the size of pumps I work on. Hoping somebody has some kind of experience...
I know there are always trade offs but damn I really wish there was a good clamp meter that also did millivolts and microamps dc. Would be nice to only carry one meter in the bag.
What are you using this for?
I agree with heatingman. Something that can clamp in the 2 inch range would be awesome, especially if wireless.
I’d love to see a wireless temp probe option that could be used on larger commercial sized piping. Whoever comes out with one first (if ever) I’m buying it immediately.
I’ll just stick with my Appion gauges then. Maybe one day...
So with MQ, could I use Fieldpiece pressure probes with iConnect temperature straps?
What do you like using on commercial stuff?
Did you ever end up buying a laser alignment tool? Lol
I’m torn. I feel like if I drop the ridiculous money on iConnect, Testo or FP will come out with a strap probe or something similar.
Are the iConnect strap sensors the same as the Cooper Atkins...
Would you recommend using MQ on a commercial unit, something like a Daikin SWP, multi circuit water source unit? Or is it mostly just for residential? I’ve yet to use apps and wireless probes, but I...
Check motor starter coil
@absrbrtek I’d love those training guides as well!!!
Does anyone have a “chiller troubleshooting” chart of sorts that lists different problems and possible causes? I know there are a lot of different chillers that operate in different ways with...
Damn, I JUST bought a Megaflow kit and this comes out....
Damn I just bought the Fieldpiece too. Oh well, I have a back up.
That guide will be super helpful! Thank you for sharing.
I’m looking for any other info like this. Any documents, service procedures etc. If anyone has anything they’re willing to share please...
Don’t have an answer to your question, but I do know they are not field serviceable due to the precision clearances.
For example, flange gaskets on the WMC refrigerant lines.
So you can use multiple different vacuum pumps at the same time? Do you attach them to a common manifold or different parts of the chiller?
What are good sealants to use on gasket surfaces?
What size vacuum pump do you guys use on chillers? Does it change depending on the chiller?
Washington DC. Job is in Baltimore MD.
I am going to do some more searching tomorrow. Office was looking for them last week and we kept being told they were backordered.
Does anyone have a source for 3 Sherwood 3060 200psi reliefs? Soonest I can find any in my area is July...
Pressure drop x 2.31 = ft of head
Look in manual for flow charts. Compare ft of head to chart to get GPM
Every heat exchanger is different and has different flow characteristics. You always...
Vacuum pumps. I was surprised when the instructor for the Daikin centrifugal class suggested using only a 5-10cfm pump for evacuation. What kind of vacuum pumps are typically used? I’m sure the...
Thank you for answering all my newbie questions. Definitely helping me understand.
Is it possible to get good working on/fixing chillers without working for a manufacturer? The company I work for...
What are the advantages/disadvantages/effects on a chiller having variable flow through the the cooler or condenser?
Thank you!!!!
How about condenser relief? Resetting the condenser water temp based on load. So for the WSC, 65 degree entering up to 50% load, then linear up to 85 entering at 100% load.
How would that be...
That’s what I thought. Didn’t make sense when someone told me that.
Another question. Some centrifugal chillers cannot operate at too low of condenser water temperature. If the temp is too high it can cause surging. But I’ve also heard if it’s too low it can cause...
Also on a side note, if anyone has manuals or literature or training material that comes from classes for ANY chiller brand that you can’t download off the internet, I will buy them from you if you...
jayguy, thanks a ton for the info. There really is no substitute for just working on the equipment. I haven’t gotten to work on them much. Every summer I do some here and there. I’m actually...
I was getting the pumping labyrinth and thrust pump confused. How do each of these work?
I don’t know how you guys do it. Trying to learn chillers, there is so much to learn. Every compressor/chiller is different, every brand of compressor/chiller is different, all the controls are...
Is one compressor running more loaded than the other? If you spend too much time running at low loads oil can be lost to the evaporator. If one compressor is running at a higher load than the other...
Couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t post in the pro chiller forum. Did some searching and found some people seemed to have lost pro member after the website crash. What do I need to do to get it back?...
I can install $100,000 combustion control systems on boilers but they’re not even as fancy as these things are.
InnotechNinja was extremely helpful! Especially on a Friday at the end of the day. And ever more especially for putting up with someone who probably has no business touching the control in the first...
