Good point. The cap tube is in an extension piece sticking out of the low side condenser; I think and can take it out and protect the condenser section it goes into.
Thank you. Sorry I was snippy.
I take all answers with a grain of salt. Even from the super smart people on this site.
Keep looking.
I thought my questions were reasonable, for reasonable answers, if not perfect in every detail.
I emailed the same questions to the factory. They responded: "It does sound like a restriction,...
It's as if nobody reads questions. I see better answers on facebook lately.

What suction and discharge pressure should I expect on the high side, 404A, at startup, and at operation after 20 minutes? I believe my system has a restriction...
I'm not a recruiter or manager, so I don't have much details. I'm just a service guy, so I threw it out there to be nice.

It's not supposed to be a selling point. It is the truth about Arizona. I'm not trying to keep unions out. I'm just telling you how it is here. I would not want some union person getting the wrong...
DP Air Corp. is looking for a service manager and another experienced tech in Tucson, AZ. We have more work than we can do. Our work is mostly commercial package units, data centers, some hospitals...
On gas pipes I don't tape over the first 2 threads. Then I dope over all male threads and tape. They never leak.
On refrigeration I tape if I think the fitting is going to go in too far, otherwise,...
If you place a covid on an AC unit and you smash another AC unit on it. The AC unit will kill the covid.
Interesting. That the check valve takes the liquid into the condenser for one more loop. Do they do that to subcool it, or just to confuse me? So it looks like in cooling, the check valve screen is...
I'm trying to understand the refrigeration flow of a 2007, Trane heat pump RTU, model WSC060A3R..
It has a one direction drier, so the drier is only operative in heat. The check valve branches off...
That's good information you guys. I'm going to try to get back there ASAP. Thank you.
A one year old 2 story building has large chiller supply and return pipes making what sounds like flow noise throughout the 2nd floor. Sometimes the noise becomes loud high obnoxious pitch. Sometimes...
Yes I did the plug already. Going back to replace the pump.
That would be too smart to put a panel to inspect something. No, it does not have one. It's a nice office so I best put down a tarp. Arrrg. If someone could take photos of me removing it and...
This has been fun reading.

Is it difficult to remove the foam water pan to access and replace the condensate pump? I assume that's what needs to be done. The service manuals...
So I went back in the cool morning to restart it. It was low on refrigerant, which is interesting how the AXV operated giving high suction. Also found that this condenser will not work with this...
That sounds like a bummer too. I've been researching this condenser and compressor. The Copeland Mobile App shows running this at 38*F SST puts this compressor outside its' design. I will try to...
I have never dealt with this type of wine cooler.
Evaporator is an IRC coil, HS-31, designed for wine cooling apparently.
Condenser, Copeland M6QM-H049-IAA-272
I came to a wine cooler walk-in....
While the economy is hot because of the tax cuts, deregulation, low fed rates and the general business cycle, it's a good time to try to fix some things with China. Tariffs are scary and may not...

It's for a Siemens MRI. What is a PITA? I can tell I don't like these CBox's before this is even started. The side panels look like they can't be removed when it's running without causing high head;...

Manufactures instructions are not completely clear. Mfg. instruction says vent the highest point. It should say vent all high points where air might get trapped.
Thanks, I will look for those B&G books. To know is good.
Yes, MRIs are a bear because when you're doing a PM, you can't shut them down without major scheduling. I hate when vents don't have a ball valve below them. You're like: I wonder if that vent works?
If our installers had this knowledge before they started piping, they could have avoided that highpoint and used less fittings. They did not need those 90s there. It was an unnecessary configuration,...
Oh, that makes sense. Awesome.
Thank you. I have instructed the install crew to put air vents there.

Here is a photo of the concern:
How large of a high point in a closed loop chilled water piping system would require an air vent?
I am tasked to fill and start a small Kraus process chiller for an MRI. It has air vents at the...
It has an expansion tank, which is built into the chiller and it is a bladder type, so what? That has nothing to do with the air vents that are supposed to be put at high points. I wanted to know if...
It is a completely closed loop with no buffer tank. The chiller is a new KKT Kraus small process chiller for a MRI machine.Process chiller piping.JPG

The controller expects the compressor to start and stop and pump down, so will give you an alarm regardless of what you jump out. Just go into alarm settings and disable that alarm for that circuit....
That's awesome!
Thanks, but I was looking for fellow technicians who have experienced developing something or submitting ideas who might have some insight.

Oversized computer room cooling is getting very common. On these smaller Liebert units, open the hot gas bypass some to rase suction pressure to give yourself a longer run time. Hot gas valve...
