Good point. The cap tube is in an extension piece sticking out of the low side condenser; I think and can take it out and protect the condenser section it goes into.

The controller expects the compressor to start and stop and pump down, so will give you an alarm regardless of what you jump out. Just go into alarm settings and disable that alarm for that circuit....
