Compared to a TXV, EEV can/will open further initially, requiring more LL volume as it's controlling and maintaining say 8°SH on a high load...

Very likely that equipment is not rated for 40°f return air temperature. Typically I'd say 55 should be the very lowest, and 60 is much safer.

Boiler minimum/maximum input gas pressure. Does the gas pressure drop when boilers fire...

If it has its own circulator, is rotation correct? You can get flow, but weak flow with incorrect rotation.
