Yeah that draft gauge is what I was talking about. They do not make them anymore.

Thanks I do mostly commercial with some residential. But I do not see why that would not work. Did that metal tube come with it or did you buy or make it? I would get a longer plastic tube, would...
Are you using the old big draft gauge that you can sit down on something, zero it out and then take the reading? Or the Draftrite gauge?
I am mainly wondering if I use a digital manometer with a...
The draft in the firebox. On residential you typically check it right above the fire through the peep hole. There is typically a little notch in the steel cover of the peep hole. On commercial...
Question for everyone. How are you checking your overfire draft? Really what I am asking are what tools/setup do you use? Thanks
Thank you. I like to leave a printout with the equipment.
Looking on True Tech Tools it seems non come with a printer. Do you know if they come with printers or have them available?
Hi everyone. I have used only Testo analyzers so far. I have used the 320 and the 300. I had the first version of the 300 and did not like the how dificult it was to make customer sites and equipment...
I know at least my two older manifolds have the Firmware updated. I did it the other week when I was having the same issue. I just bought another one a few weeks ago when my 3rd set needed to get...
No the probes do not have any issues on my phone. With Measure Quick they connect no problem.
I took them out onto the roof of the building today and while the connection to the manifold improved...
Hi everyone. I have 4 SMAN SM380V manifold sets (one at FP for repair) and a bunch of wireless temp probes. Some JL3PC and some JL3LC. I often have an issue getting the temp probes to sync to the...
Are you joking? Or being an a-hole? Of course I Googled it! I could not find the right version. Since this site is amazing and full of awesomeness I used the experience and knowledge of the people...
We used to have a "Truck Charge" which was supposed to cover things like gas, vehicle maintenance and small items like rags, wire nuts. Not sure if we have that anymore. But if we do not put down...
We bill competitively to similar companies in our area. He does not want to miss out on business by charging higher rates (even though we are worth it). Also some of our customers already get reduced...
I got you! And thats a good question. I do not know why I even posted it there. I thought I was in the pros section. I do not make many new posts. So for sure that was my fault.
The lack of capable techs in our area seems extreme. I bill so much time out fixing bad designs, installs, non existing startups, piss poor PMs leading to failures and ridiculous repairs made by...
There is no way we can do flat rate. We are in all kinds of buildings. Labs, animal faculties, data centers, multistory office buildings, power plants, etc.
At least I see no way of it.
Thank you rundawg!
slctech I shall try your approach. But asking for a specific version of a document I would think going that route would be near impossible. However not impossible.
I hear everything you guys are saying. I was at a loss when he asked me how I can bill for them.
His thought is the digital gauges and other temp/humid readings being brought right to my phone...
It is not my tool. It is his. I bought several Fieldpiece manifolds, wireless temp sensors, etc. cause I wanted them. Basically I buy what I want through the company. I pay for zero tools.
Hey guys does anyone have a manual for this unit.
Rheem M# RGRA-10EZAJS
I took a picture of manual on site but did not want to remove. Its literature number is 92-24161-16-10 I cant seem to...
My boss wants me to charge for the use of my digital refrigerant gauges. I am looking for a good way to describe this in the materials column on the ticket. I have come up with:
Refrigerant system...
I am wondering what some of you use to draw out spaces and systems you work on. I do commercial work and often draw out what I am working on to better understand how my systems are working. Or just...
I have never said this about any thread before here. But some of this may have made me stupiderer!
Glad you found your solution!!
I would just recover the refrigerant. Remove drier and install new one indoors at AHU. Install your pressure taps at indoor coil and on the discharge line while you are doing this. With these taps...
They want you to have compressor pump air? What did they say about the POE oil?
Once you changed to the piston your charge is not based off subcooling anymore I believe. You would need the chart for operating conditions.
Based off what the install manager had them do I would have to believe there was no good practices followed during install. Sounds like they have no idea what they are doing.
You need to provide...
Wouldn't you want the flue pipe pitching up for proper movement of the gases? The flue gases are hot/warmer then combustion air. The flue gases want to naturally rise. This is forcing them downhill,...
I got it sir!! Thank you
I knew you would come through!! Thanks rundawg I sent you an email.
Can anyone provide a manual for this old unit?
York Furnace M# FG8B07512MU11A
I am not surprised you do not have much condensation with an entering water temp of 47*. What area are you in?
I like where Icy78 is heading you.
Hey CHOPS if his water delta- T is 10* shouldn't he be somewhat ok with water flow? 10* is normal design.
Are you trying to keep both ducts at the same pressure?
Thank you for that input.
Does anyone have experience with both of these pipe clamps? Or I would like to hear your opinion on why you choose the one you did.
The Testo is about $33 cheaper and does up to 1-1/2 pipe. I...
If you are interested in learning grab a grinder and cut it open. Take it apart piece by piece. Might even find an issue.
Zero ohms would mean he is shorted to ground. With a typical multimeter he would want OL (no continuity). If he gets a megger he will need to learn how to use it. Not sure what good a megger is for...
At least post the model of the unit and the fan motor. Someone may be able to look it up. Trane has a good site for that.
If this is just for space heating how much water can you be making up? Unless the system has a leak in a wet return. I do not do much steam heat so not sure what a typical amount of makeup would be....
Thanks guys I did save this info. I have a lot of these old heat pumps in my buildings. And with their age they are rapidly coming up for replacement as they fail.
One for a water pressure gauge? Those are all I am aware of.
It’s not they are not accurate. The reading bounces. I just want a stable reading. Right now I try to look at the higher readings and lower then pick the middle when taking my numbers for my notes....
Do you use it on gas? I do not see anything saying it is used for anything but air.
Who is using digital manometers for checking gas pressures? I have UEI and Fieldpiece. Both fluctuate readings which make it difficult to get an accurate measurement. It is like they need a surge...
If you are saying that your AHUs are supplying the VAV boxes with 78* air and your VAV supply temp is 65* I am lost. You must have a real cold ceiling and a plenum return.
Need more info. Type of...
Yeah I’ll be stopping by to do that. I have the new unit dimensions so I’ll just make sure it is going to fit. I was just having hope someone had it. I have a decent amount of old docs, thought I...
Thanks Rundawg! I will try them. Our local rep did not have the info. I have saved a lot of the old WSHP books but cant find this one.
Did Nortek buy out Daikin? It seems impossible to keep up...
Hey guys anyone have a PDF for M# G052HHG-F
Real oldie here. Need the unit dimensions, looking at replacement.
