Tool bags are a subject of personal preference... not only the bag, also the type of work done and the way one does the work..
Some folks only install... they need more tools available where they...
Now that is interesting...
Because I talked to someone a few months back...
Who took a Fujitsu class here in metro Atlanta...
They said they were told to ALWAYS use a terminal!
Sounds like it...
As I understand (???) that is a Fujitsu???
Yeah... they are big on using terminals for the wire between the outdoor and indoor units...
Question: Can that model HP be used with a conventional...
The highlited sentence = increased stress... which IMO is why the weight will not come off.
More by accident than by plan... the stress level in my life has gone down... and the weight is starting...
Yeah... I am not a fan of ICP equipment at all...
Prefer AlliedAir and ThermalZone
Oh yeah, RTU's...
I was thinking about split residential units...
I quit going up on roofs a few years ago (other than a handful of long term customers)...
Age thing... :)
Correct me if I am wrong... however:
Carrier has their own model/serial chain...
However:
Bryant, Payne, and all the ICP models (ArcoAir, Comfortmaker, Day&Night, Heil, KeepTite, MarathonAir,...
This is correct...
There are 60-something brands, made by 7 manufacturers...
They mostly use 2 or 3 compressors...
They all use Mexico or Chinese motors...
They all use Chinese electricals and...
My vote is to consider (or budget for) new furnaces...
Yes, those were bullet-proof... however they are old and will only cause more issues as time goes along.
Newer equipment has newer...
The one that is installed properly... :)
If the G97 is a modulating furnace... those require the ductwork to be installed properly and airflow to be balanced (or you will have hot/cold rooms)......
To the OP...
While you are at it... suggest you apply for PRO status...
While this conversation was technical, we are really not supposed to do that in the open forums...
The rules seem to be...
Just my $0.02 here... as someone that does refer occasionally for a handful of folks...
Steps to be done:
*Clean the unit... if the owner fusses... walk away!
*ANY time you have compressor that...
Something to think about...
If you plan to use that back room for a hobby/business... you may want to stick with separate systems...
Different climate (humidity/temperature)???
Keep the smells...
Keep posting something with technical content...

The committee will verify you information...
And one day...
Suggestion: get your post count up and apply for PRO status (see Dad's post above)...
Well worth it!
OK...
Click on the little black triangle below... ask the MODs to move this thread to:
Tech to tech chat...
If they do, the rules are relaxed a little there...
I will retire when they pry my cold dead fingers off my tools... :)
We are not allowed to go this deep into tech with non-professionals on this forum...
It is time to get a service tech out.
It is easy to 'blow' lots of expensive parts if one does not know what...
Some of us old timers remember being on crews that did dumb stuff like that...
We must have had guardian angels...
I am sure I wore out all 9 of my lives and then some...
See, BIG people have a place in our industry...
:D
Hmm....
After skimming through the manual...
This unit appears to have similar functions to a conventional residential gas furnace (draft inducer, spark ignition, flame sensor, high limit, etc)
...
Probably a new unit...
:D
IMO the parts are gonna be scarce... and I am not sure I want to be liable for it... CO issues.
I suspect it uses a continuous spark ignition... similar to a...
Those are lab conditions...
Lab conditions do not always apply to the REAL world.
This is where a professional comes in...
We know what the real world is...
Because we do this for a...
We put the low voltage wire in condensate pump tubing... and push the tubing into the condenser and wall of the building... and as noted above... tape it in a bundle with the lineset.
How about each of us ask for specific new ones...
I would like to see:
One that represents old fashioned patriotic America... :)
TB is on track here... I would listen to what he says.
One can have a house that is 'too tight'...
The result it stale air... which is a serious problem.
Foamed houses are great... as long as...

Back in the day...
Dewalt and Makita were the names to buy...
Now Milwaukee is the name to buy.
I remember a church like that...
Had 350K BTU's of heat with 12 T of AC...
We went back in with 250K BTU's of heat (twinned 125's) and 10 T of AC...
Worked just fine... lowered the energy...
I had to do the first 2 ft of water line after the meter... in the Spring of 2020...
Someone had used a short piece of pex and a sharkbite fitting...
Burying a sharkbite... without wrapping it in...
Bill Porter DF kits

Get the board AND the outdoor temp sensor...
Then use a standard HP t-stat... so you can switch to E heat (furnace) if you...
Yeah, the shows are fun!
I did not get to find you and BT at AHR Atlanta a few years ago...
Only saw Glenn and Robo...
Only got to do 1/2 day on the floor... :(
Not sure if I will do Vegas......
Yes... anything down stream of the meter... belongs to the home owner and is their responsibility.
I am thankful I am far enough south... we do not have extreme cold to freeze pipes.
In GA...
Just got an email...
AHR in Chicago has been cancelled...
And as of this time... NO live show in 2021...
They say they are gonna plan an online event.
They also say hopefully there will be a...
This reminds me of a video I saw of a village in Alaska...
They actually have a village water system...
The water lines are buried... along with a recirculating hot water system, to keep the water...
Chase the wire first...
You may learn something...
That needs to be resolved.
Thought: former owner of the house had some reason for it :eek2: and left it when they left.
There is one more option...
That would be a 2 stage 3 ton AC unit; note you will need a variable speed (VS) furnace to go with it.
The 2 stage AC will run in low (about 70%), until it will not...
I was talking about running your own business...
And you will need years of experience before you can do that...
IMO one should focus on doing a quality job... and the $$$ will follow....
IMO... you win...
Problem is finding a new one... (old fashioned design, not the digital one)... :)
I am closer to 70 than 65... and while I no longer do the 60-70 hour weeks...
I still work over 40/week and do well in the business.
Residential is the easy way... if you can deal with crawl...
If you can find one...
The Honeywell 3200 series...
(non-programmable)
Just set it... that is all... :)
For heating and AC work... definitely the 1/4"...
We prefer the FUEL tools... the are a lot nicer to use... less chance of stripping out a sheet metal screw, once one gets used to the trigger,...
Depending on the model of AH you have inside... you should be able to use it with a 2 stage outside HP...
Probably will need the new stat... however most AH's that have communicating ability, also...
One can use a 9V battery for lots of testing with VS motors...
Cannot talk much about it here... as this is an open forum... :)
Get the thread moved to PRO... :)
Interesting thing...
Down here in metro Atlanta...
We are not allowed to run water pipes in any exterior wall or in the attic...
Wonder what the local good old boys were thinking, when they...
I have a 2016 3500...
It started a 'hesitation' thing when one steps on it... backing off to steady acceleration causes better performance.
I wonder if it is a new software thingy... fuel...
Most of us in the USA... drill the PVC...
It is not approved in Canada though...
The concept of properly analyzing combustion... does not work unless one 'taps' the flue at the proper place......
Now that is cool!
THX for posting it!
Reminds me of when I figured out ways to use relays to make systems do things the factory did not build in...
Like a relay to add de-hum to a PSC furnace...
One more thing...
I have an AC and heating customer who has a 11K gallon pool, with a 75K Rheem HP heater...
He says it extends his swim season until around THXgiving, then it has a hard time...
Here are a couple of pool sites to go to and read up:
Inyopools.com
Supply house for pool owners
Troublefreepools.com
Forum for pool owners, probably the most technical and well staffed forum...
