Called Parts Town yesterday trying to find out status of a warranty claim. My rep was out again. Not really an issue because we have talked and she has some health issues going on. So I asked for my...
I've used Heritage for years. Recently my normal contact there has " not been in the office. Every time I call I get a different person. I've been working on a very old convection oven. Parts are...
I have a wireless JB DS20000S. Didn't realize until after I got it that it was wireless.I work for state gov't so returning it was a hassle. Worked fine until after the warranty was up. Won't connect...
He said AHU discharge is SET to 78. That doesn't mean that what the discharge actually is. Since they disconnected the perimeter heat, did it also shut off a hot water coil in the AHU?
I service 20 school districts. Only 1 has anybody on site that can even change filters when needed. A lot of them have installed or are installing Day Automation. Still lots of crappy Barber-Coleman...
Sister in law had a Turbo New Yorker.Drove the NYS Thruway everyday with the radio cranked in the passing lane for 40 miles. Got to the toll booth and it was clattering and banging. Got it towed to...
I used to work on Chyslers back in the day of the 2.2 four banger head gasket woes. We did the " slip and slide" procedure all the time. No big deal. Until one car had a cracked head between the...
I called Heritage today. My rep says do you ever try Partstown? I say no but I hear you got bought out by them. She was adamant that they didn't get bought, they just merged. Prolly won't see the...
Our job pays into the 50's
I work in a school cooperative service serving 15 schools with 40 kitchens. Tons of work as the schools have no one and I mean no one who can fix anything. 12 holidays,3 personal days, 14 sick days...
The gel scale breaker Good way sells works very well
We had a small Speedaire. Pressure switch broke. Pipe to switch broke. Compressor pump pulley broke. All in a year
You're replacing a 20 yr old oven? I have customers with units approaching 50 yrs and they can't believe it when I tell them that parts are obsolete!
I've hated Delfield for years. But Continental is coming up fast from the year. We have a multi-million dollar kitchen at our campus that just sat unused. They decided to hire a chef to cook lunch...
Use your finger. Wet it first for a better grip
I like when you call for tech support and they call the next day. "Are you at the unit?" " No. I'm 30 miles away from it on another job! "
Any chance the fittings on the condenser are identical? I had 2 GM trucks come from body shops that had the lines on the condenser reversed.
Any chance they are cranking down the room setpoints? I have a school account. 1 room is like a rain forest. The called about wet carpet by the unit, condensation on the window. Turned out the had...
How's this beauty. Stat set to -25, fan delay not working and they prop the door all the time. There is a steam kettle about 6 feet away from the door! :eek2:

Here is another perspective. I used to be the HVAC guy at a medium size hospital. We had 20 Hoshi's We bought 4 new ones. First one out of the box won't dispense. I'm not taking a new machine apart...
Sounds like a steam plant that hasn't been maintained properly. Dirty boiler, and traps, fouled exchangers. Get a water treatment guy in there and start analyzing water and contaminants.
Most ice machines I run across do not want RO water.
Best guess is a lovejoy coupler like Hobart.
We had a Carrier roof top blowing it's 75 A breaker this past summer. We checked everything with the unit. Only drawing 38A a leg. We disabled individual components on the unit and the breaker would...
Of all the stacked ovens I come across, the bottom oven always out performs the top oven. The bottom oven is basically new because the lunch ladies don't want to bend over! ::DD:
And kitchen dirt.
Between the bad fan and dirty coils the compressor is probably cooked liked a Christmas ham.
Wait until you get that new kitchen with all of the electronics. Have a power issue and the fun begins. I have 1 school that had a transformer blow 2 months ago. I've changed controllers on 2 Victory...
The schools I work at are a bit different. I got called to a walk-in freezer too warm. I find a bad time clock and frosted up evap. The maint staff act like "what's the big deal" while the kitchen...
I also just had an issue where I had to call Manitowoc. They are 2 hours behind me so I couldn't call them until 3 hours after my work day started. I had to wait an hour for a call back one day but...
What brand deli case? I'm having a run on bad controllers on Victory units not shutting the compressor off turning the fridge into a freezer.
That's where I left my Channel Locks! I thought somebody stoled them!!!
I got a 2.0 with a cracked burner. This boiler is one of 3 in the plant. They all play a tune coming out of the stack and have never been torn down. This one is the quietest. Got a feeling I'm going...
Prolly had 17 yrs of dirt!
What model Aerco?
Board of Cooperative Services seeking tech. We service 25 school districts and are in need of a reliable and dependable tech to service commercial AC, Boilers and kitchen equipment hot and cold...
None
Victory reach in. customer complained that the temp read out is 40 but the thermometers in the box say 60 and water everywhere. I get there and there is a Victory warming cabinet right next to it the...
We needed HS1 this past summer and couldn't get it I think it was phased out
Saw this on FB. Nothing more needs to be said! 802822
Had the same issue. Some evaps like Larkin, mount the switch on a panel instead of the coil tube itself. It takes 45 min at least on a hot pull down. It sucks when you have to wait for the fans while...
There's a Gooman badge on it. Maybe it was a Carrier and someone saw how crappy it looked and changed it!
Dude prolly needed a new flashlight and had to buy something to get their free flashlight. So he spent $5 instead of $1.99! :grin2:
I'd run # 6 in a seal tight whip
What kind of ovens are you hooking up? I just installed 4 Vulcans and the draw 38A a leg.
Believe it or not this pile runs like a champ. Complaint was it was freezing up the indoor coil. Dummies had the building automation set so the condenser runs 24/7 but the indoor fan shuts down on a...
Check the coils on the inside. They are a PITA to clean good.
The hospital where I worked at had 100% outside air in the old suite. Reheat coils in each OR and 1 AHU as big as a ranch house. We had difficulty more with the Docs complaining about comfort than...
Every piece of Delfield equipment I've seen was a flimsy pile of junk
