If you have an Air Bear branded filter box, use that filter.

When you remove your air filter, does the noise stop? If so, you have a filter that is dirty or too restrictive.

I am thinking you will have more power available to overcome duct static, and move more air. Being an old furnace, the blower wheel should be pretty strong. Might need a lower speed than before.

Please do not get an oversized system for your home. You only need what the load calc requires. Rapid recovery is only for water heaters , NOT HVAC EQUIPMENT.

The heat exchanger is only visible when the coil on top of the furnace is removed to access the primary side. Or the blower removed to see the secondary.

I have used the sc680 for a couple years. It is huge, but works for me.

Often they will cause reversing valve issues, and run the unit in cool mode with the backup heat on. Good luck.

Is it just a standard cartridge water filter? Can you get dimensions from the old one? Or just replace the canister and install new?

It would be easier to install a used unit from a known working system after a change out.

Are they more than 20 years old, what are the serial numbers? Just grab a matching txv for what refrigerant you want and use whatever is available.

Where are you testing static across the coil? What is the model numbers of the furnace and coil? Are they the same age?
