It's not a rumor. It's fact. From Wiki:

Penton was an information services and marketing company.[2] The company's three largest revenue streams came from events, digital and marketing services.[3] Although Penton had a long history (see below) as a trade publisher, in 2015 it reported that 35 percent of its EBITDA derived from digital products, 54 percent from events, and 11 percent from print.[4] The main industry segments served by Penton include agriculture, transportation, natural products/food, infrastructure, and design and manufacturing.
The company was descended from Penton Publishing, founded by John Penton in Cleveland in 1904 to bring together production of several trade magazine titles, including Foundry, which he had created in Detroit in 1892.[5] However, after the Penton/Prism merger, the company is now headquartered in New York City,[6] although it continues to maintain offices in Cleveland and other U.S. cities, with an employee base of approximately 1,350 people.[7]
Due to reduced advertising sales as customers shifted to digital media from print, Penton went through "pre-packaged" bankruptcy reorganization in 2010.[8][9]
On September 15, 2016 it was announced that Penton was to be bought by UK based company Informa for $1.56 billion.[10] The sale closed on November 2, 2016. Penton was integrated into Informa Business Intelligence in 2017.
    Also from Wiki:

Informa plc is a multinational events and publishing company with its head office and registered office in London.[4][5] It has offices in 43 countries and around 6,500 employees. It owns numerous brands including CRC Press, Datamonitor, Fan Expo, Institute for International Research, Lloyd's List (London Press Lloyd), Penton, Routledge, Taylor & Francis, and UBM.
Both companies do the same thing - just as I stated. While it's unfortunate that you're saddled with poor IT people, I can assure you it's not "the same for everyone". Maybe it's "the same" for all of the Informa-based companies.

Discontent is not what I said. The forum itself is not the primary function of the goals of P/I. Apathy towards the secondary or tertiary functions on the site does hamper the primary income sources.

    Dad
Upper management tells me that it takes way too long to get things done via their new IT and it's the same way for everyone. I can only assume it is because they are so large with a limited IT staff.

However, we are lucky enough to have solid support within Penton/Informa owners and management and they do care.

If there were any discontent in management towards us I would know about it so lets not spread unwanted rumors.

I was thinking there was a problem with the "like" button the other day. Thankfully before it could consume me ATT froze my email for some unknown reason. Of course the email they sent that said they did so never made it to the only email I really use!

No Sir, .... I'm "Advocating" that if the new "IT" people are "dragging their feet" on properly Maintaining HVACtalk, ... Then the Corporate Heads at Penton, just "might" get involved if a Petition was sent to them that had many Contractors that wanted HVACtalk maintained in the fashion that it was before all of this trouble.

There are no updates for us to give. It's like the new IT guys just don't care. However we are still trying to get them to make fixes here.
