    Pretty sure don't need an oil trap on a minisplit FC. No manual I have seen calls for one and the multiple manufacturer training classes I've attended concur.

    If the wall units are lower than the condenser you need a trap. This horrid job actually does have a trap with those loops, however it's far better to put the lineset in the wall and put a p trap in the lineset. It just comes together a lot better that way. They're going to have plenty of roof leaks

    Even if that was the case, just cut the electrical back and use up the line set. But I do agree, just lazy installers.

    Some duct less units require a minimum lineset run but I doubt this was the case here.
