Can’t a a421 with a relay for compressor load do the same thing with off cycle defrost?l built in? I do a chain of restaurants with norlake walk ins that have the dixells. I run into the same problem with them all the time. I rarely replace any dixell with a new dixell. I always switch to a ke2. You can program temps, defrost, defrosts intervals etc. Same as the dixell, a lot easy to program and I've never had an issue. Ke2 makes the same thing for low temp also. Those norlake setups are horrible for many reasons. I've also found the evap fans go bad often. They all go bad at the same time too. Also the fan and compressor relays always go bad.
Ive always just added a contactor to take the load off the dixell. Not too expensive Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk
I use an a421 to replace a lot of dixell controls on self contains sometimes with a relay or contactor and sometimes just the tstat. Depends on the current draw and location.
Could make the die ll control a contractor pilot duty it would be less than a .5 amp load then.
the A12 is rated for 16 amps. A12 with solenoid and LP control. Problem solved!
Anything is possible depending on how creative you are. If the customer is not utilizing the remote features of the Dixell, any temp control can be made to work
