    3 man job? You think so? I was thinking 2 on each lift: 2 at the lift for the connection, and 1 opposite to line it up, then the other 3 double-checking the hangers/support, operating the lull, and prepping the next run, etc.
    Maybe you're right. Me and my brothers could do it. I just don't want anyone to get hurt cuz like you said, 1,790 lbs/stick!
    Yeah, really it is a 4-5 man job.....I thought you were pushing for 2 guys, figured I’d bump you a little! LOL!!

    If you have an overhead beam install a welded lug on the elbow. Is there a pump at the bottom of the pipe?

    40.52 lbs per foot for schedule 40, or 810 lbs per 20’ joint.

    3 man job, chain falls, lift or 2, and some engineering approval for your hanger system.

    Capacity is 117 gallons water per 20’ at 980 lbs.

    Sooo...20’ of pipe, with water, will weigh 1,790 lbs. I hope and engineering firm is owning the liability!

    Hanging 12" Black Pipe

    I need to run 12" black pipe for process cooling about 20-25' up. I have a concrete wall (E/W) and a beam (N/S) for support. Right now I plan on roll-grooved Victaulic joints, but I'm considering welding everything 4"-8", and NPT <4". What do you think is the most efficient way of safely getting the pipe in place? I'm thinking 2 chainfalls and 3 lifts; 1 centered on the run for the pipe/hoists, and 1 on each end to align, support, and tie in the pipe, 2 guys/lift. Does anyone have any suggestions on specific types of lifts that might be useful here?
