Ignore Post #3, & Call a Professional Service Tech to work on Your Propane Unit.

In the event that the burner engine runs, the cad cell would not have any impact on start.
Cinergi, It sounds like you absolutely Need Service performed on your unit. I Absolutely do not recommend "Reaming out" any ports as in Post#2, .... Nor any other form of Repair that Technically You do not have any Experience in. At the least, ... You could damage the Unit. In the Worst Case Scenario, ..... You could unintentionally cause Major Harm to Life & or Property.
Hi - I had a problem like this that was intermittent in nature. Mine is a propane corner fireplace...about 4 years old, but in a West Coast beach location...so it is drawing on salty air to burn. It was used about every two weeks for 10 hours. The fireplace has two "burners" connected by small feeder port holes between them and the pilot light. The burner farthest away from the pilot began to not light. It was fed from the other burner using these "feeder port holes". Both the local technician as well as the manufacturer could not resolve it. I did notice that it would be fixed temporarily when the tech. worked on it by cleaning out the feeder ports with a small auger like tool. These lead from the burner that always worked to the one that did not work (except after this "port" cleaning happened). I ordered TWO new burner units in preparation to replacing the burner. They took forever to get delivered, so in the interim, I cleaned (reamed) out the port holes to the non-burning burner. That fixed it!! That was 14 months ago, and it is still working. I took delivery of the burners and stored them. I believe that ocean air corroded the feeder ports enough to not allow the flame to cross over to the non-burning burner. Hope this helps.
Heat N Glo fireplace blue flame and ⅓ of burner has delayed lighting Hello, I have a Heat N Glo SL-750TRLP propane fireplace. It was working fine at the end of the last winter when I turned off the pilot and gas supply for the summer. I just re-lit it for the first time this fall, and I noticed a few problems that weren't present last time I used it ~ 6 months ago: 1) ⅔ of the burner lights right away, but the remaining ⅓ requires approximately 15 minutes to light. 2) The flame color is blue even after the fireplace has been running for > 30 minutes. It previously started blue but turned yellow after ~15 minutes. I'm planning to call a technician tomorrow, but just wondering what could have changed to cause this? Nobody has touched the fireplace between last season and this season. Thanks, cinergi
