Now if you go up to top of the line for today like the XV was then we are talking a completely different story.

You are correct that it "was" a great system. It was also not produced very long because of being too ahead of it's time so it did not sell well. We put in 5 of them all went over 18 years and are now gone. Most didn't last that long. The chance that there are any left is pretty slim. At this point if there are any left they would be better off putting in a new more efficient system than spending even a few $ on a 28 year old control system because time is not on their side.

My point is, it’s 28 years old. How much longer will it last? New thermostats are reliable and cheap, with a warranty.
