I've installed a large amount of them paired with Trane's XC95 units. We only offer them when paired with the communicating systems due to the added features. I haven't seen any problems with them other than when customers clean them with water, then reinstall them wet. I always recommend rinsing the honeycombs out with water, then placing everything back into the cabinet with the fan running to dry them out quicker. After three or four hours, you can turn power back on to the Clean Effects unit. Other than making sure they are dry, just make sure the Field Charger doesn't have any bent probes on it before you reinstall it, this can cause you problems. Besides the two non-common issues, I believe they are great!

I've had one in service in my home for 11 years... I like it. I keep small shop vac w/hepa under the house. You need to vac out the primary and main filters quarterly, and every 6 months pull everything for a good cleaning. They say to wash the main filters, but I only vacuum and blow out with compressed air. If you wash them, you need to make sure they are thoroughly dry before returning to service.

In addition to this, I still use the cheapo fiberglass filters in the return, and change it out weekly during high use seasons.

Thanks for the input I got a 20x25 model I can install on a personal project and was looking for input. I've almost always used the lennox merv 16 cabinets cause I like the relatively low drop across the merv 16. I've heard the drop on clean effects was pretty high ?

I service a lot of them and dont have much issues with em. Only time I really hate them is two scenarios, one is a system where they don’t get cleaned nowhere near enough and are filthy. Other time is when they they are not installed good and square and have a sum beatch of a time getting the door back on and latched. Overall for me it’s like anything else maintain it properly and they are great or if not they suck. Oh and don’t use water on the collection cells (learned this the hard way). If ya just absolutely no way around it cuz they’re so filthy make damn sure it’s 100% dry before putting it all back together and turning the power on. I do still prefer a 4 or 5 inch media filter just because of my previously mentioned 2 issues

If that is an electronic air cleaner i have ripped them out and replaced with 4 inch pleated. From my limited research they don't filter as well as media unless you stay right on top of cleaning.
