I don't have an account set up with them now.I spoke to them about opening one up.I will open an account up ,then see how their prices are.I have not used them in the past.I have used Case parts and Refrigeration hardware as well as heritage.I have accounts with the others.I will open up an account with Partstown soon. Thanks for the info.

    Gleng,

Did you ever get an account set up? I get really good discounts ,much better than I do with Heritage.

I hope Parts Town did not buy Heritage!!!Heritage gives me decent pricing.Parts town will sell to your customer for the same price that you get parts for.I like Refrigeration Hardware the best!!!At least that is my experience with Parts Town. They don't discount anything to me, as a state licensed contractor.

    Lol.

I think Parts Town bought Heritage, Parts town seemed to be getting bigger than Heritage.

I called Heritage today. My rep says do you ever try Partstown? I say no but I hear you got bought out by them. She was adamant that they didn't get bought, they just merged. Prolly won't see the Heritage name in a year.

I had a local vendor that would give me 40% off on stero and champion list. Without notice, he just stopped. So did my buying from him. So I ask myself, "Do you want to make 10% or nothing?" I pay in 25 days. Ask yourself who does that?

Full credit account. And a vintage one It just takes a few seconds to check prices. Maybe the price displayed is different for different folks. If that is true they are leaving sales behind. And yes I am buying more parts on Amazon Prime. FYI monthly purchases are 25K. Maybe not big but not small either.

They are considerably higher. Like today I was pricing Stero parts with them , Heritage and Allpoints. They were the highest of the three.

    Very true.

I get better pricing from Parts Town than I did with anyone else, much like Heritage if you want a good price you have to call them and set up an account. I even get fixed shipping rates, $30 for overnight on any items in stock. I ordered 400 belt pegs overnight, came in a massive box for $30 overnight.

And I'm sure I'm not the biggest spending customer at any rate.

    BabBozo,

No worries, I plan on staying young, lol.

It's one thing to try and pay the least amount on parts you buy as an owner / operator.
It's an entirely different thing when you're buying parts as the end user and price is of no concern.

And thar you go. Their strategy is explained very well in that article.

It would be terrifying to me if I was still in the biz...

Parts town is the absolute WORST place to buy parts. In my experience, if you want to completely and consistently overpay, then that’s your place to buy!

Gaaa! Don't get old, kid, and reply in a forum after getting back home from a 10-hour drive from Pensacola, FL.

Yes, I meant to say Heritage was bought by PartsTown directly, and not by the Whaley/Fesco/etc group.

one thing ill note is being in hawaii we get stuffed on freight cost but with parts town we get pretty good pricing for freight, a lot better then ordering thru the manufacture.

we used to buy parts direct from Montague, Imperial, Jade, etc etc etc now they are all transferred to parts town. however we still pay what we used to pay direct with manufacture. The one thing that ticks me off is when i call into the manufacture and click 1 for parts and i get transferred to parts town where a person answering the phone doesn't know custom parts or parts that are not identified on a sheet in front of them.. if thats the case ill just look at the parts manual....
