Great you took the time. I ran into a couple that had just returned from 6 months in Alaska. This was in the mid 80's. They thought if they didn't do it when they did, life would occur and they might never have another chance.
Some people have said that there's enough to see in the US without going to other countries. Sure there's plenty to see but you never really have the sense of actually leaving the US. Language and customs are the same.
I just wish travel was like it was before 911.

I watch a lt of British detective shows and was encouraged to see there are supermarkets now. When I was about, a strange thing was the butcher shops were claimed to have "Natural refrigeration" meaning open air. The fragrance was apparent from quite a ways.
To improve sales, there would be a pigs head in the window and birds hanging from their necks long enough for the feathers to begin to fall.

Really got tired of the "typical" english breakfast when I was there.... Especially the cold dry toast in a rack. Did like the tomatoes tho...

Haven't been to London for a very long time. Used to go there and get a B&B near Liverpool St Station and eat whatever they served. I used to like Bangers with eggs over med. with baked beans and toast for breakfast when there.
