Never did like those junker cubes. Nice job with the linesets though. What's with the slimline unit? Is that on a mini-split? 1/2 way down, doesn't Bryant make coils to match their furnaces? Nice metal on the bottom ones! The bottom Bryant looks like you put a coat of car wax on the drop :D

Junker cubes?

The slimline unit is a ductless split for cooling a server room.

I knew the coil question would come up. I was pushing a deadline and the supplier screwed up. Had I thought of it I would have atleast centered the coil.

If the "junker cubes" comment refers to the 10 seer units I agree. Spec job. Prefer Puron.

Isn't it against code for the CU disconnects to be behind the units? Not nit-picking, just asking.

No, I am sure it's not.. if it was, why would it be? WHere else would you put these? Sure wouldn't want to screw it right on to the cabinet.

Why the Lennox in one of the pix and rest is Bryant?

Nice clean line set job!

That one was a change-out several years ago while I worked for a Lennox dealer.

It just happens to be in my Grandmother's basement. So earlier this year when I was putting together a portfolio I took a snapshot.

The puron in the third picture down is one that I added to her system 2 summers ago with the ADP coil that you see on top of the Lennox.

The old furnace was an ancient oil burner Lennox that had been converted to Nat.Gas. I forget the model but the thing was about 4' wide by 8' long and had to be completely demolished to remove it from the basement. All of the white duct is original.

The bottom furnace is a change-out in my parent's basement.
It's a variable speed 80 and all of the shiny radius fittings were fabricated by yours truly. In fact all of the duct in the pictures was made by me.

Now, if I could just talk my parents into a/c.

It is against code in our neck of the woods.Disconnect must have three feet of clearance in front of it,measured from the cover not the wall it is mounted on.

That's what I thought. Thanks duct dude. I could've looked it up, but it was easier just to ask.

That is what I like to see. Nice piping. Especially the refrigeration piping. I never use those "line spaghetti sets" either.

Its nice to see a good install.Keep up the good work.A true craftsman who does his own sheet metal layout. On behalf of all the true sheet metal mechanics I would like to say thank you for caring about your work,do the industry a favor and dont let our craft die an untimely death.Seems like all the contractors in my area are using pre fab pipe trunklines that leak and any monkey can install.I for one will not lower my standards to try to compete with these self proclaimed professionals.Give em hell man!

Looks nice, and I like the shiny metal. Couldn't live with the flying wires, though.

Looks like you went the extra mile for granny. Again nice job.
Btw that p-trap on the A/C system seems a tad too big.
5-6 inches?
