Hey yall! does anyone know why there's a discharge pressure regulator on the carrier thinline cargo containers? and what pressure would you set them at?

Yes, I have several containers I look after, 5 of them sitting on the yard.

I got into a discussion with a Tech over them valves, and I swear to me it is nothing but a safety pop off just in case the discharge pressure goes to dog gone high.

He was trying to tell me different, but in my mind that is what it is..

I know there is a feller on here that IS a Container Man because I have seen comments by him in reference to these units.

Perhaps he will come on here and set us all straight. The local in-country Tech just didn't satisfy my mind over it and I have been too Blasted busy to stop and research it myself.

Hey J.W thanks for replying. It doesn't look like its a pressure relief valve. This valve has an adjustment spring. to me it looks like some type of pressure regulator. I just don't have a clue why its on the hot gas line. On top of that the condenser fan motor has a low ambient temp controller..

Does this help? I didn't bother reading it.

I found the manual on this website. The compressor is on page 2-3 and the valve I'm referring to is item 11. Let me know what you think.
