Sure Comfort by Rheem - any thoughts?

I just got a quote for a 3 ton AC/gas furnace split system that was thousands less than the others. The contractor quoted a "Sure Comfort by Rheem" system which I've never heard of. I strayed away from Rheem due to some YT videos I saw but that's just one person's opinion. There is a 10 year parts warranty so I supposed I'd be covered in the mid term. I want to also install a whole-house dehumidifier which would potentially take the load off of this unit which has taken a beating over the past few years.

Any thoughts? Would going for this system be penny wise, pound foolish? I don't mind paying more for another off-brand (Payne, etc) if they use better components.

There are 60-something brands of heating and AC equipment... made by 7+1 manufacturers...
And most of the parts inside ALL of them are either similar or the same.

Sometimes... the 'no name' products come off the SAME assembly line as the name brand product...

So is a no name the same as a brand name???
In heating and AC... sometimes yes!

Thanks y'all. To your point, the installer seemed really knowledgable, experienced, and honest. The two interactions I had with him definitely pass the sniff test. He was totally fine installing the whole house dehumidifier too where the other contractors were like, "what's that?". Thanks again for you input.

Sure Comfort is not available nationwide as I added my zip code and entered a 100 mile radius and no dealer showed up. As long as Sure Comfort plans on being in your area for expedient warranty parts etc. you should be OK

May want to find out the warranty details closely, as if it’s like Rheem, they ( Rheem ) show systems needs to be a manufacturers or AHRI match ( split systems ) in order to get the full manufacturers warranty.

The outdoor units were stripped of their cabinet. The furnaces look the same all the way to the R98VB which is a 13 stage modulating, communicating furnace. We and our customers love that line.

When first came out, Rheem tried little company owned distributors but didn't work so now sold by the biggies. I think in Chicago G A Larson is selling it.
