Programming an SNC

I have not needed to get into one until now. I am assuming these use CCT like the NCE?

I have a 10.2 copy of CCT and when trying to get at the SNC it said
'Failed to get Controller information Supervisory Device is offline'

It is quite likely that since the SNC was developed at least 5 years after CCT 10.2 was released, that this version is too old to negotiate with the SNC and that is my trouble. Just trying to sanity check that if possible. I have been working with Johnson stuff for around 15 years and know them quite well, but the newer stuff is new to me. I just need a little direction on getting at it and I am quite certain the wrest will fall into place.

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately no. You need CCT but you have to get into it through SCT. You have to have a backup of the Database, or create one, and use SCT to commission and program the SNC. It is a PIA and why most JCI branches don't put them in. If you can get into the SNC you can create the database, but I do think you will need a more up to date version of CCT than 10.2. You can not directly connect the MAP or CWCVT using CCT.

As stated, a MAP/CWCVT will not access a SCT. You use "Launcher" app to access, link below for download .....

CCT is only to create the program, you must use SCT to load the program and setup the SCT (all configurations). Recommend having the latest versions of CCT & SCT for this as there have been a lot of updates since release. SCT is after v10.2, so not part of v10.2 .....

Check the JCI Software Manager app, the latest CCT is v16.x and SCT is v17.x to verify if you are licensed with the latest software to access the SCT.

Below is a screenshot of two I have connected to with Launcher/SCT, one v12.0 & one v13.0. I still have them as v12.0 needs an RMA, so have one functional .....

thanks guys - appreciated. The SCT on the site is around rev 15 or so. I have the latest of both SCT and CCT, I kinda figured the 10.2 one was too old for this. I did poke around in the launcher and SCT and did not find anything that jumped out at me. There was some LCT in the SNC, but that is not a CCT program.....

Oh I found it - you right click on the Local Application under the programming thingie in SCT and export the .caf and open that in CCT. That is where it was hiding. it is not all that bad. Just in a new spot.

The export allows you to get the caf file externally. It's better to edit the caf in the database. The system will update any points you add to the database. This is easier that importing the caf back into the database.

How is that done? It seems like this is 87% the same as an NCE, but the knows and levers got moved around.... like using the same app on an iPhone and again on an Android. There is that initial fumbling around all the time... looking for the knows and levers....

If you navigate to the SNC->Programming->caf name right click the device under Programming and there is the option to "Open Logic in Editor." This will open CCT and allow you to edit the logic and commission the controller.

Ah, needs to have the SCT-CCT pass-through working properly then. I need to move the old CCT to another machine and install the new CCT where the SCT is to get that pass through thing working. Their CCT crashed and when I reinstalled it, it did not pass-through properly after the reinstall. I did not have time to fix that yet. Thanks for the lead on that. Super helpful.
