The first picture is in a condo complex with over 200 units setup in the exact same way...Safety 3rd!

The second set went like this -

Homeowner- "So, can you fix it?"
Me- "That is a definite maybe, do you have a shovel I can borrow?"
Homeowner- "Shovel? What do you need that for?"
    Me- "To find your condenser"
Homeowner- (puzzled look) "Isn't it on the side of the house?"
    Me- "Most of it....."

The buried units qualified for 20% of that 30% a tax credit since they were 1/5th geothermal.

Was that a gas line running just over that lineset?

I love the units on their side. Maybe since the indoor units are multipoise... they figured the outdoor units are too.

Hey, at least they have adequate clearance on at least 3 sides. Does the IOM actually specifically state they need to be vertical? Being level, doesn't tell you if it's positioned correctly.

Those are York "tombstone" units. They are right side up. Do you suppose a compressor would run for 25 years on it's side?

I don't think its gas, the homeowner didn't know what it was...The shovel & I kept our distance.

I just quoted a replacement for a tombstone unit today that finally died. Will have to post a pic when we go back if we get the job. Don't see many of them left.
