Is there a tool made for compressing these things? Every HE Carrier/Bryant furnace I've been into uses them to retain the drain hoses onto the condinsate trap. I have been using channellocks or pliers, but sometimes using them is a pain. Suggestions?

basicaly same thing but cheaper I think.
Seems like the Mayhew is great with the larger clamps and room for operation. But trying to imaging trying to get on some of those smaller clamps in the furnace.
I find my Klein linesman work just fine.
Those stupid spring clamps suck. I have pinched my fingers many times trying to open them.
You need to put the phone down and get back to work!
Retaining Ring Pliers work for me. Also works well for changing gaskets for charging hoses.
Klein makes "slip joint hose clamp pliers" that I use.
They have notches cut out in the tips so the spring doesn't slip out. They're like 15-20 bucks.
I like Channel Locks (w/o the grooves/teeth). Mine are made by Cooper Tools (orange handles).
Thank you, OP, for reminding me to deal with this irritation - only going to get worse eventually as the 90% law kicks in.
I'm going with FrostyBeer's Klein slip joint hose clamp pliers and replacing with hose clamps as I go...
