Become an Energy Analyst and do Energy Audits during the slow times.

Haha I remember that. Where was that from. If I still have that stuck in my head at work tomorrow I'm gonna be pissed.

I stock grocery shelves on the weekends, during the week if nothing is coming in, I'll venture out in the 4 cylinder car (good gas mileage) and start cold calling.

I clear about $800 per month stocking, it's not much, but it's consistent.

I got in the habit during the hot months of keeping a notebook of what I call "winter work," stuff that doesn't have to be done right now and could be done in cooler months. It's probably easier here, where right now it's 63º out so we're not working in the snow.

I got in the habit of looking for and saving winter work one winter (during the Carter recession) where we worked only one or two days a week.

During the slow season, I dance on tables as kind of a minor league working class Chippendale Dancer.
See, the human mind is kind of like... a piñata. When it breaks open, there's a lot of surprises inside. Once you get the piñata perspective, you see that losing your mind can be a peak experience. ~Jane Wagner
