Nothing nrings back memories than when it's freezing coold outside and you come into a house that smells of pot roast or the like.
Doesn't food (especially hot food), just taste and smell so much better when you're eating or smelling it outdoors in cold weather?

Okay finally we are getting around to HVAC and the food forum. I knew there had to be a connection.
When you are outside for a while your body is burning up fuel trying to keep warm. The natural fuel gauge is hunger. As you get hungry all of you senses seek out food.
Plus smell and taste go hand and hand. When you have been out in the cold for a while all of your sinuses are cleared out. Hence every thing smells better (or as it should). Hot dogs never tastes so good than when you hop off the snowmobile and roast one over an open fire.
I enjoy a warm bowl of chili next to the fire on a cold night of camping.
Food cooked and ate outdoors can even have dirt and ashes in it and be mostly burned up and still taste better than food made indoors!
