what to look for when buying a used refrigerant recovery system?

I saw an ad on the newspaper on someone selling a powermax recovery unit. He got it on a debt that someone owed him.

It turns on. But is there other ways to test it? I think it is the oiless type.

Any tips or suggestions would be great.

    Thanks

    Appion G5 Twin.

I've seen a few on craigslist for $350+ well worth it. Even when used its an excellent piece of kit.

If you're getting the power max you really need to test it first. Ideally with some refrigerant and an empty recovery tank. Might take an extra 15 minutes but you don't buy a tool without trying it out first...
    Or do you?

Make sure it will self evacuate. if it won't; someone switched it from evacuate to self evacuate while it was running, and it doesn't have long for this world.
