    Nortec Humidifier

i have a Nortec Humifier Model# NHMC100 giving "Excessive Current Error 1" code. Checked voltages, 460 3 phase unit, wire connections etc. Replaced the cylinder, checked the conductivity of the water and everything. Still getting the alarm and lockout. Any help would be great.

Is the unit draining OK? Or is the the drain stuck with dirt making it drain all the time?
I had that problem this winter but I think it was giving a different alarm.

    Read Grahams' post above.

If this is a regular PM for you, hopefully the operating amps are recorded somewhere on the job site, in your notes, or maybe there is another humidifier on site that you can compare the current amp draw against?

If the humidifier is located outside, moisture can form inside the control cabinet on the control boards and cause nuisance trips. I've only ever seen the current error 1 caused by poor connections or a plugged cylinder drain.

This unit is inside an office building. Conductivity is 70 micromhos ( a little low i think). Each leg is pulling 23-25 amps. On start up the unit will call for 100% demand then the drain solenoid will open for about 3 seconds. It will cycle this way 6 or 7 times, then it seems to be ok. I'll come in the next day and it is off on alarm again. I have a new drain valve, i am waiting for a new fill valve. These items i was told to replace by tech support.

    NORTEC 100 Humidifier

I am thinking about installing 4 new NORTEC NHTC-100'S in our facility. Does anyone have any opinion about the Pro's and Con's with this humidifier.

Are you sure you received the right voltage tank, and not a 230v. Also, is it for sure draining to get rid of the hard water? Hard water equals higher conductivity which equals higher amp draw.

you need to keep up on the maintenance ,you can go through bottles pretty quick if you have hard water. Install an RO supply if possible it helps.

I have serviced a NHMC200 several times. They are very touchy. You are supposed to clean the drain and fill valve every cylinder replacement. These humidifers are nice when they work but seem to break down more often then not.
