    Lots of options out there.

    I like MO49 primarily

    or

    401a for medium temp applications

    401b for low temp applications

If I was going to change the compressor I would convert to 134A. While u have the compressor out just fluah it with rx11 and pull a good vacuum.

Why not 134A it's apparently using a txv most of the problems I have with 134A come from cap tube systems and waxing I have the same issues with all refrigerants using poe oil and cap tubes.

I would say 401a but to each his own. I'm not a fan of hot snot or 134a. I've had issues w/ cap tubes & TEVs on anything running w poe including rtus .. We all know what the high temps do.

They sure do. No such thing as a leak proof system. It's just a question of how much and how fast.

409A for 12, and 408a for 502 work fine for me. Just depends on application.

R-401A runs a little lower head/hot gas temp so I like it a little better than R-409A. Both work fine though. No need to change TXV. I use 100% alkylbenzene oil. MP39 is claimed to work just fine with mineral oil (IIRC).
