    Thermific Modbus SNMTP

We are about to begin a large job that has one component where we are integrating new Thermific boilers via Modbus SNMTP into a JACE 6 using V3.3.22.
Anybody have any experiences to share?
Should we be contacting Thermific for Modbus point structure?
Is 18-2 shielded cable approved? Is there a 50' limitation?

    ya mean Modbus or SNMP??

and yes you will need the info either way,

"If" going SNMP you will need the MIB files, view these in note pad to get your list of dependent MIB'S, google them, compile it in AX, Pretty simple

If Modbus, ya need the registers, etc.

The more info ahead of time the better

    I'm confused as usual.
I was told there was two flavors of Modbus:
    Modbus via IP,
    and Modbus SNMP.
Is that true? Doesn't sound like it.

    ModbusTCP/IP

I have seen alot of stuff here lately in a few Data Centers that seem to have both protocols available Modbus RTU or SNMP. Either way, both require some upfront info.

This type of stuff is new to me as well, but so far, as long as you have the info, its a cake walk.
