    Hmm Science word

    What is the word that a hvac guy could use that describes a major temperature swing by the thermostat. Like it over heats or runs up the temperature and then it waits till the house is cold before it cuts back on. Not temperature swing, that is not the word I am looking for but temperature swing best describes the word that I am looking for.

    The deadband could be tiny, or large.

    Deadband is more likely to mean the gap between cooling and heating setpoints on a auto change over thermostat as far as thermostats are concerned.
