Question True Steam

Hello guys, how effective are the Honeywell True Steam humidifiers? I have not installed one of the newer models yet. The older ones were difficult sometimes. They look much easier to install than the older models. Thanks for the input.

I absolutely love these! They are simple to install, 2 hrs. max.. I have put in a few dozen of them and have yet to hear a complaint. The only issue is if the home has very hard water than the coils need to be cleaned all of the time and that sucks to do.

Have you tried the reverse osmosis unit yet or thought about it for the hard water areas?

I haven't seen that. Is it internal on the trusteam unit? On the job that we had that issue on we ended up installing a RO system for their home and afterward it worked great.

Last winter I had one installed, the 12gal model and Visionpro IAQ themostat. Its fantastic, it can raise the humidity in the house in no time. With the external sensor and fancy thermostat theres no adjustments we have to worry about.

I removed the bottom to look at the heating element and it looks fine, a small amount of buildup, like I might see on a faucet aerator, it wipes off. We have good city water if that makes a difference.

Got one installed last Winter. Works great. If you use the remote mount kit, be sure to insulate the hose. For whatever reason, the remote mount kit does not come with insulation (and it should for the price).

Some homeowners have complained about the increase in power bills. We now let everyone know that,YES your bills may increase due to the fact that there is now a heating element that provides the steam. The main issue is with hard water here and people not wanting to do regular maintenance or pay for an ro installation.
