    Best or Worst?

    We are in Memphis TN
I maintain aprox 10 million BTU of heat at my business. These are simple unit heaters.

We are receiving bids on replacing a 14 year old Trane condensor unit that has failed. I am concerned about all the new bells and whistles I have learned about the past two weeks.

We are seriously considering replacing the furnace as well, to a 95% furnace.

The two bidders/installers we are confident are bidding two different systems.

Amana with its liftime warranty on compressor. (they claim a complete changeout of condensor if compressor fails)

Tempstar. 10 yr no hassle waranty on condensor (same change out claim).

    MY QUESTIONS:
I am interested in your professional feedback as to either of these manufacturers have issues I should be concerned with. (proprietary parts and or availability, durability, any single component consistantly going bad, bad design, hard to service etc

Also is flushing out the copper in order to go to the new freon sufficient?

What should they use to flush it with?

We were also looking at the Aprilaire 5" filter (non electric)
What is your take on this type of "long term filter"

I appreciate any and all professional installers feedback, and thanks for a great forum.

Double check, and make sure that warranty applies to commercial applications.

    Sorry for the cloudy question...
I guess I was trying to illustrate the simplicity of a Modine unit heater to the newer HVAC units now on the market.

The quote is for our home.

I have read that Goodman manufactures the absolute lowest quality out there (and talked to a my supply house locally)

Does anyone know if the Amana is built to a higher standard or not?

    My questions still remain...

Thanks again for any and all input

    They aren't the lowest quality.

Depends if you get an Amana Distintion(relabeld Goodman) or an Amana.

Instead I suggest you ask people what they think of their Rheem Infinity system.

Wow, all those features... I don't know how I manage without one. One would think all the HO's problems are solved.

Does it give you a fault code when your coffee is too hot?

    Hmm

Of course I read it in a review or a blog somewhere, but these sources as Everyone should know can't be taken totally at face value because of the unknown source and/or their motive. And I would guess you would hear from an unhappy homeowner (on a review) more often than a happy one because most the time, a happy homeowner would enjoy life and move on.

This is why I turned to this forum. To get some professional advise.
