    Posi-Lock Puller

I wanted to purchase a puller. i worked on a york dm180n24b and had to pull off a 6" pulley and pull the pillow blocks off. i work on a lot of bigger stuff and small stuff and wanted a puller that would work all around. i dont have money to buy 2 pullers.

i was thinking the posilock 104 which has a 4" reach. or for a few bucks more should i go with the 106 which has a 6" reach.

these are also both the 3 claw models.

im afraid if i go with the 4" it might not reach what i need to do and i would have to rig something up. If i went with the 6" it might be to big to get into something.

    what to do.......???

104 is an awesome puller. I suggest you get the hub puller kit with it too, it has tip extenders in it. I have a 110 and a 103 on the truck too and the 110 is a haus. If it doesn't come off with that, then it'll be broken.

I own the 206 and 210?? The 2 jaw versions.. They work great. I use them more then a 3 jaw. I have not said ever needed the 3 jaw in place of the 2. I find it easier to work with..

I do not do any residential so that may play a role for you depending on what your working on..

Also great decision with posilock. They make one hell of a tool.

hey pascone... i can only buy one for right now. i work on 2 ton RTU up to 40 tons on the daily. im thinking maybe going with a 208

i think pully diameters at max are 10" and the 208 can spread to 12"

the 208 is also 22" tall when fully opened. i'd have to start taking everything out of the units to put the puller on it.

    what should i do?

Let me make sure I have the 106 Gravity. THat one I use the most and will do 90% of my work. We do a lot of old built up equipment. There have been multiple times where the reach was the problem always the width.

The 110 is good for everything else. I think the 06 is what you want. I mean that puller is even on the big side of things...

Head over to Sears and look at the different size pullers they have.. The Sears near me has 3 different kinds of pullers in stock. If you have a Sears near you, they might have them as well.

I own the large 2 arm puller, its under 50 bucks and works for most things I need. I also have a smaller one to fit in tight places..

I do not like sears anymore either. None of their tools are made in USA. I also had an issue with a tv that I bought from them. Lets just say the customer service sucked.

Ever since the K-Mart dude got in control they were all about their bottom line and could care less about their customers and employees. I'm really surprised the retail side hasn't went under yet.

Lifetime warranty is nice from Sears on the tools, thats the biggest reason to buy there. If the tool breaks, you walk in and get a new one or its gets ordered.

We're not talking about TV's here, we're talking about tools.

I'm going to try to put my personal feelings aside about them and say this:
I have major concerns with the longevity of the company, hence a lifetime warranty would mean diddly squat if they shut the doors.
