That's a Carrier right. The different color is because the burners are on the left of the pic and the inducer pulls through the right. Looks like low airflow.

Yes carrier, that makes sense, we don't service this, they were shut down for high CO and that was the first panel I pulled. Thanks I don't do much work on RTUs so didn't make sense.

Yep, they go bad in the seam.

Also the heat exchanger is in the down stream of the evaporator coil so all summer long there is condensation going on.

You don't need a new heat exchanger, just a muffler repair kit.

It's that time of year again!!! Already condemned 5 Tranes, 2 Carriers and 3 Yorks--all within the past 2 weeks. Shut off gas valves, and set units so they would not operate in heat, yet people couldn't understand why I had to disable them!!! "Have you had any headaches lately?"

I had a not so dependable 92 the other day 2 of the hx tubes were so perforated the crawl was warmer than the house. homeowner gave me a ration about cutting off his heat told him it was for his own protection. The wife spoke up and said can that be why I'm having these headaches?

Had one a few weeks ago...

Guy refused to sign the ticket stating CO leak and dangerous situation... I told him I would have to call the gas co... they would shut off the entire house... no cooking and no hot water. He signed.

I realize no heat is not comfortable... however why folks take it out on us heat and AC folks is beyond me. We are trying to help... rather than hurt.

I guess... well never mind... that would be an ARP comment...

He never declined doing the work, he just stated " I find such things". I would be like hell no I didn't fix that thing.

That's good. I want a signature also. The last one the lady still wanted to run it, being a pulse they are positive pressure I wasn't to thrilled. I told her she could die or get sick, she told me well I've lived with it this long. She signed the paper but I found out later she ran it. We put a new trane xv95 in within a few days.

On occasion I will loan someone an elec space heater (after they sign a contract for a new furnace)... however:

I have taken it apart and dis-abled the high setting. Reason is I do not want a 1500 watt (12.5 AMP) draw on a circuit in their house.

I explain this to them, and to always plug the elec heater to either a kitchen or bath outlet... Ni issues so far.

We have around 12 heaters, I tell them to use different circuits if they can, and tell them they will over load and pop breaker or fuse if they have to many running. My bedroom is on a crawl, I made the mistake of putting on in there for my wife to temper the room, now it just runs all night. She is one of them people that are freezing while your sweating!
