I've had bad experiences with a Ridgid regular 18V Li-Ion drill bought for home use, including warranty service issues. On a good note, I have a good Guinea pig for a battery cell rebuild and brush replacement for when my good tools crap out. With that being said, their hand tools are awesome and I'd recommend them to anyone.
I have an 18v Ridgid that I bought 7 years ago and still going with one new battery change, I also have a brand new 18v Hilti that is a beast and still brand new in the box (got it free from my bro in law), I'm waiting for the Ridgid to croak before I start using the Hilti.
i have a 18v makita they good but life of battery is a bit short to me and new battery price killing me, i ve seen a guy actually fixing dead batteries on youtube but i m not sure i can do that (due to laziness)
