    ventilation fire stopper

    Hey,

    was wondering what is the best manufacturer and model for the fire / smoke stopper unit for ventilation system, when crossing the loadbearing walls?

    Make sure the type you buy uses a fusible link, rated at 160f for example. When the rated temp (of the heating air) is met the solder fused link melts, the link breaks into 2 pieces and the fire damper, gravity and/or spring driven, will slam shut.

    Links are also available for higher temps.I have the 165's 195's and 225's.
