Honeywell T-Stat settings for Em heat and Droop Problem

Issue:
1) When temp differential is beyond droop point the gas furnace does not kick in.
2) When 220 breaker for Heatpump is dissconnected (as it will be when generator is running Durring a power outage) the EM Heat does not kick in automaticaly after Droop.

I can force it manualy into EM Heat.
I don't know for sure if the Gas heat comes on below cross over value yet.

Installer settings are good. How did you check droop?

Emergency heat is not automatic. You have to set it to it. Its a mode of operation that only allows auxilary heat to operate, locking out the primary heat source (heat pump).The stat can't tell if the HP doesn't have 220 power.

If your furnace doesn't come on after balance point. Call your installer and have him check it. With settings correct, it wouldnt of came on in emergency heat if it was wired wrong. So the malfunction would be the IAQ.

When I set up a vp 8000 today for Duel fuel it didn't offer 360 only 350.
350 and 360 Both have settings when Heat strips are auxilary.
345 1&2 do the samething difference being the auxilary lock out temp of 360.

If the stat has 2 stages with hp and hs. both can run, staging with run time/temp between 350 and 360 settings. Hp is locked out below 350 balance point, hs is locked out above 360 auxilary lock out. If droop occurs hs is allowed to run above 360 setting.

Fosil fuel auxilary cant operate with hp so it is locked out with 350 balance point. 345 2 has no lock out set point to bypass.

I tested the Droop by cranking the heat demand to 76deg when the house temp was 70. The t-stat didn't give me any indication it was using aux heat.

Also tried this with 220V disscounected from HP. No heat at all.

My though was that if the droop was working properly that when I lost 220 power to the HP the t-stat would kick in aux after the house temp fell 2 deg (droop setting) below the asking temp.

Your thought is almost correct, so your test didn't fit the parameters required. Your stat has to sense the loss of temperature from when it started. Not the set point.
So if you turned the stat up calling for heat, pulled the disconnect, leaving the stat thinking the hp is running. When the house temp drops "approximately" 2* from the temp it started at 70* to 68*, the stat should call for the furnace to run and disable the call to the hp.

It's basicly doing the samething you do by putting it in emergency heat except the stat requires the 2* drop and it will call it "auxilary heat".
