    Question York vs. York/Fraser Johnson

I've received two estimates on a new furnace and am having trouble evaluating the differences. One proposes to install the York, Model TM9X080B12MP11. This is a one-stage unit. The other proposes to install the York/Fraser 2 stage unit, Model TM9T080B12MP11. The estimate for this unit is significantly higher than the first one.

But I'm confused. I've read that the "York/Fraser Johnson" is an inferior line of York products, yet the price on this unit (admittedly, it's a two-stage one) is higher.

Can anyone possibly explain the price and quality difference between these two furnaces? I'd be most grateful.

Same manufacture Same quality only differance is the model. Ask one or both to bid the other model. Then still only use the price as part of your decision. What is cheaper now may cost you more down the road due to workmanship.
If you think our goverment is screwed up. You haven't lived in another country.
