berkel slicer
Hey guys I looked at a berkel slicer today. The belt slips when the run stuff thru it. But when I checked the belt it was really tight. Why would it be slipping?
The machine is a berkel

I would wonder about the blade, but make sure the belt isn't glazed, which could make it slip

What type of food are they slicing? Belt-driven slicers are not ideal if they are slicing cheeses. Most manufactures recommend a gear-driven slicer if you are going to be slicing many cheeses. I would also check the blade as well.
