    Trane Warranty Question.

I had two Trane A/C units installed last month. They seem to be working well, however I do not like the company that installed them. They are not a Trane comfort specialist, and don't know a lot about the systems, unless they call the Trane rep. They are a home appliance warranty company. My question is do I have to use them for the warranty for the first year, as parts and labor are covered?

That's about all you need to know. It seems to be the experience most have had with companies used for home warranties is negative. They are extreme low bidders. Their job is to do band aide repairs to keep the unit running until the warranty runs out.

for the first year ONLY they're the ones that carry the labor part of the warranty.

Find a local TCS dealer and have them come out check the system, and purchase a 10 year parts and labor warranty and go from there.

That would be a very good idea! The home warranty companies are worthless!!!!!

I already have a 10 year Trane parts warranty, that came with the systems. Can i just get a separate labor only warranty from the TCS dealer?

Since i already have a 10 year parts warranty from Trane, I am wondering if I really need to purchase an extended service warranty. I don't know the cost, but I have a really good A/C contractor that I have used for years that would service the A/C's. Do you really think that it would be cost effective in the long run to have the service contract. The costs really should not be that great since the A/C's are new, and the parts are already covered. Or do I need to use a TCS to get the parts warranty?

The cost is trivial compared to a repair.
