Trane CDQ Overcooling Issue
We are using a Trane AHU with their CDQ Desiccant Wheel for a job I am currently working on. The commissioning agent has asked us to explore adding a reheat coil into the unit after the wheel for cool high humidity days.
His concern is that since their CDQ wheel is a type III desiccant it can only dry the air out if the cooling coil brings the air to saturation. We are concerned that by cooling the air in order to dehumidify the air, we will overcool the space and thus, the suggestion for another heating coil. Some of our spaces have high occupancy densities and therefore minimum ventilation flows are high as well so lowering the volume of air might not work either.
