Busted chiller barrel
The end results from changing a compressor without determining the cause of failure for the existing one. The new compresoor lasted less than a day.
And it isn't green leak dectector dye you're seeing.

Looks like your a little short on glycol. Top it off and you'll be good.
Every customer you take for granted today will be someone else's tomorrow.

Just think of the profit in changing out the barrel as well as a new compressor, cleaning the refrigerant lines, oil, txv, ect ect ect ect.......

Hydrologics will end in catastrophic failure every time whoops.
Arguing with your Boss is like wrestling with a pig in
mud.
After a while you realize that while you are getting
dirty, the pig is actually enjoying it.
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it
creative problem solving.

Even if he missed all the symptom clues, when this "tech" installed the new compressor, we know he couldn't have pulled a decent vacuum. Yet, he opened the tank valve, added refrigerant, and left. Some days I just get a headache.

Wow that is awesome!! We had a situation similar to this but we were looking for a leak when the vacuum pump oil kept getting milky. Come to find out it had a broken tube in the barrel also.
Fun times ahead for you!

Ouch.

Isn't "green" the wave of the future?
