    Confused water flow control

    Hi everybody ,
Can I ask you about an electromechanical device (system) which can we use to control the quantity of water flow in chillers
(We have two chillers but we need no water flow into two chillers when one is off and another is on , we need water flow into (ON ) chiller only )

    thank you very much

It sounds like you just need an auto controlled butterfly valve interlocked with either the chiller water pump if they each have their own pump or a pump VFD with speed switches so that when one chiller is off it closes the valve and reduces the water flow to the GPM of one chiller.

Granted a lot more information is needed to make specific changes and equipment selections but these are a couple of basic principles that you could use depending on how your pumps work.

How many pumps? Are they VFD drive? Are they dedicated pumps or on a common header? Do you need to just isolate flow or balance/regulate flow as well?

I think at minimum you need to post a piping diagram of what you have. Primary / secondary loop or otherwise and pump configuration with respect to the chillers.
