I think you have a few options. Why not water cooled heatpumps for heat and cool.
Hi Folks, We are looking for your advice and suggestions.
SUBJECT HOUSE: 1799 timber frame farmhouse(5500 sq.feet plus basement), never renovated until today. We will be installing a Unico/SpacePac for a/c and supplemental heating along with radiant infloor(underflood really) heat. We already have a nice oil fired Viessman boiler(250,000BTU) which will now serve as a 'backup' to a new Froling 'wood chip' boiler(60kW). Froling makes a very nice, fully automatic (auto ignition, self cleaning, auto dampened for small loads) 'wood chip' boiler but you do need a ton of wood chips(100-150 ton/year)
QUESTION:1-Please tell me which HiVelocity system is better.
2-We have access to, via an underground stream, an endless supply(1000+gph.) of cold water at 50-55 degrees. Could we use this water directly or indirectly with our new air handlers to condition the air?
3-Most of our floorboards are 2 inches thick so the infloor is more for comfort than heating. Is 2 inches of pine flooring too much?
I think you have a few options. Why not water cooled heatpumps for heat and cool.
