Well, the tech came out and said since I now have a variable speed air handler that the air will definitly not feel as warm as my old unit. Reason being because the old air handler was not varaible and every time it kicked on it was always at 100% so it was always at the hottest possible temperature. Maybe he's BSing me, but I don't know.
your new one will actually move the air needed, if its cooler it's because the previous system was lacking airflow because of poor ductwork and application and probably had a significant part in why it failed. Now you get noise because the duct is restrictive but you're moving the proper air. Now if you fixed the duct work, you could actually see a savings on your utility bill.
