solenoid valve
I'm going to install a 4HP tecumesh water cool system, the walk-in design temp is 38F. The package doesn't have a solenoid valve for pump down purpose. Do I need to install one. thanks

Im learning too but isnt that something that never comes with the equipment but is field supplied and installed? And isnt it pretty much mandantory if nothing else to stop migration during off cycle?

Depends on the manufacturer and/or how it was ordered. Trenon and Russell evaporator coils are 2 that I know of off the top of my head that may or may not come with solenoid and X valve installed.
If you really know how it works, you have an execellent chance of fixin' er up!
Tomorrow is promised to no one...
