Need help buying a good air conditioner!!!

    Hi
I need to know what to consider when buying an air conditioner for my bedroom. I have also been wondering how long the gas lasts, if say i switch the air conditioner for 6 hours daily, with about 25 degrees Celsius selected on the controls. Let me know.

By "gas" I assume you are referring to the refrigerant contained within the system.

In a perfect world, it can last forever. The problem comes when it leaks out of the system.

The most important choice is a great contractor.
Find that, and all will be well.
The gas thing just has me confused.

Are you talking about a split system or a window unit? Window units are pretty much the same just look for the features you want.

If it is split system (unit outside, unit inside) as stated by 2old the right contractor is the answer.

Air Conditioners have sealed refrigerant circuits so they should not leak and the refrigerant does not wear out. So assuming no leak occurs and the system is kept clean the Refrigerant should last forever.
