York RTU heat exchanger tube
Stainless steel tube has small 1/4in hole.Any fix to seal, or replace only?

Is it a new exchanger with warranty and a nice neat hole? Or is it 16 years old and the hole was made with light pressure on the tube from 1 finger on the first bend after the burners? Either way - replace it...

replace,im with york (jci) factory and had similar issue,they said replace due to liablity

Never heard of repairing heat exchanger,replace also how old is unit ,

I haven't seen this units with stainless. Aluminized steel, yes. My bet is its a min-90s sunline.

Serious liability patching heat exchangers. Anything happens any time down the line with carbon monoxide guess who they are coming after? Never chance patching one just replace it. I know it sucks because you damn near have to pull the entire unit apart if it's one of the bigger models, but it is the right way to do it.

never repair a heat exchanger. replace or get new furnace.
