    Can Manual J be used to size up a radiant floor system?

    Manual J tells you the heat loss/gain for an area, and this info can be used to size any heating/cooling system.
    If everything was always done "by the book"....the book would never change.

    Not so...the potential for downward loss with a radiant floor heating system is great and must be properly analyzed.

    A program design for radiant floor heat is the only program that has this ability...no others will do.

    Thermal properties of the composite floor and floor heat loss are addressed adequately in a Manual J load analysis if performed by competent, experienced individuals.
